Mr. Joseph S. Yu has a solid track record of executing key strategic initiatives and delivering growth in complex market conditions, earned throughout his career in the fields of industrial gases and chemicals as well as specialty metals.
He began his career as financial analyst of aerospace, automotive and engineering company AlliedSignal Inc./Honeywell International 1994. His experience as product manager later led him to Linde Group in 2001, where he successfully headed regional units in New Jersey, China, and Singapore in charge of business development, marketing and commercial management of various million-dollar gas and chemical products.
In 2015, he joined hydroelectric power firm SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) as Executive President and Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in 2017. Mr. Yu heads the operating companies SNAP-Magat which owns and operates the 360- to 388-megawatt (MW) and 8.5-MW Maris hydro plants; SNAP-Benguet, which owns and operates the 105-MW Ambuklao and 140-MW Binga plants; and the retail electricity supply arm SNAP-RES. SNAP is a renewable energy joint venture between SN Power of Norway and AboitizPower.
Mr. Yu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 1994.
