The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) is the country’s foremost advocate for solar and energy storage solutions.
As a non-profit alliance of industry leaders, we work closely with government and private stakeholders to shape progressive energy policies and accelerate the shift to clean, reliable power.
PSSEA serves as a unifying platform for collaboration, advocacy, and innovation across the solar and storage value chain.
PSSEA in the Media | Solar and Storage Industries Seek Strategic Energy Reserve Support
In a BusinessWorld feature, the Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) highlighted the importance of including solar and battery energy storage projects in the proposed Strategic Energy Reserve Fund. Expanding access to the fund can help strengthen grid resilience, improve reserve capacity, and support the country`s growing energy needs.
As the Philippines advances its clean energy transition, PSSEA continues to advocate for policies that accelerate the deployment of solar and energy storage technologies, helping build a more reliable, secure, and sustainable power sector.

The future of rooftop solar depends on fair competition and strong industry standards.
PSSEA continues to advocate for policies that support legitimate solar businesses, strengthen consumer protection, and expand access to affordable clean energy.
By creating a level playing field for compliant installers and developers, we can accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar and bring the benefits of renewable energy to more Filipino families.

One of the fastest ways to make solar more affordable is to fully implement the incentives already provided under the Renewable Energy Act.
PSSEA supports the strict implementation of the 0% VAT incentive for rooftop solar systems. Removing unnecessary tax burdens helps legitimate installers compete fairly, reduces project costs, and makes solar more accessible to Filipino homeowners.
When solar becomes more affordable, more Filipinos can benefit from clean and reliable energy.

Turning Public Demand into Action: PSSEA Advocates for Affordable Solar
On 2 July 2026, at B Hotel, Quezon City, the Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) joined industry leaders, renewable energy advocates, and members of the media to discuss practical solutions for making rooftop solar more affordable and accessible for Filipino households.
The discussion reinforced what Filipinos are already saying. Recent public perception survey results show that:
• 93% believe the government should make rooftop solar more affordable.
• 91% support more affordable financing and payment options for rooftop solar.
• 88% believe rooftop solar offers hope for a safer and more stable energy future.
These findings reflect a clear public mandate: Filipinos are ready to embrace solar. The next step is removing the barriers that prevent wider adoption.
PSSEA emphasized that accelerating the country`s clean energy transition will require practical reforms, from streamlining permitting and net metering processes, to expanding financing options, strengthening installer standards, and pursuing policies that lower the cost of going solar.
As Ping Mendoza shared during the discussion:
"The fight is not against one group. The fight is against expensive electricity."
PSSEA remains committed to working with government, industry, and communities to advance practical, evidence-based solutions that make solar more affordable, more accessible, and more beneficial for every Filipino.

The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) recently had the opportunity to exchange insights with John Grimes, one of the Asia-Pacific region`s leading renewable energy advocates, on strengthening the role of industry associations in accelerating the clean energy transition.
Drawing from nearly two decades of experience leading Australia`s renewable energy sector, the discussion went beyond solar technology—it focused on how industry organizations can build trust, influence policy, and create lasting impact.
Some of the key takeaways:
☀️ Put people at the center of the energy transition through compelling storytelling and clear, accessible messaging.
📈 Build a stronger industry voice through strategic communications, evidence-based advocacy, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.
🤝 Strengthen the association by balancing member services with mission-driven initiatives that advance the broader renewable energy agenda.
🌏 Expand partnerships and global collaboration to unlock new opportunities for growth and impact.
The conversation reinforces PSSEA`s commitment to becoming a stronger platform for collaboration, innovation, and policy advocacy as the Philippines works toward a more resilient, affordable, and sustainable energy future.
Thank you, John Grimes, for sharing your invaluable insights and helping shape the next chapter of PSSEA`s journey.
