The future is clear. The action is now. ☀️🔋

The Philippines is at a critical point in its energy transition. Solar and energy storage are growing, but coal remains a major part of the country's power mix — highlighting the need to accelerate the shift toward cleaner, more affordable, and more resilient energy.

As of May 31, 2026:

☀️ 4.081 GW — total installed utility-scale solar capacity
🔋 7.96 MW — total installed BESS capacity
🏠 22,495 — qualified net-metering end-users
⚡ 219.4 MW — total net-metering capacity
🏭 40% — share of coal in the country's baseload power generation

At the same time, the continued growth of net metering shows that consumers are increasingly taking an active role in meeting their energy needs. With the right policies, financing mechanisms, and enabling environment, rooftop solar and energy storage can play a much bigger role in strengthening energy security, affordability, and sustainability.

PSSEA is committed to working with government, industry, and other stakeholders to accelerate the deployment of solar and storage and build a more secure, affordable, and sustainable energy future for the Philippines.

The opportunity is here. The action is now.
