PSSEA Held its 2026 General Assembly to Strengthen Industry Collaboration and Advance the Clean Energy Transition

Ortigas Center, Pasig City | 28 July 2026 — The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) successfully convened its 2026 General Assembly, bringing together members, government partners, academia, and industry leaders to discuss the latest policy developments, organizational priorities, and collaborative initiatives that will help accelerate the growth of the country’s solar and energy storage sector.

The General Assembly opened with welcome remarks from PSSEA Chairperson Maria Theresa “Tetchi” Capellan, who underscored the importance of collaboration in building an enabling environment for renewable energy investments and deployment.

The event featured a keynote presentation by Engr. Louise Dan A. Figuracion, Senior Science Research Specialist of the Department of Energy – Electric Power Industry Management Bureau (DOE-EPIMB), who shared updates on the country’s evolving energy storage policy landscape and the critical role of battery energy storage systems in strengthening grid reliability and supporting the Philippines’ energy transition.

PSSEA President Ping Mendoza also presented the Alliance’s accomplishments, ongoing advocacy initiatives, and strategic priorities, highlighting PSSEA’s continued efforts to advance policies that promote energy security, affordability, and sustainability while strengthening the voice of the solar and energy storage industry.

A key highlight of the program was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PSSEA and Mariano Marcos State University – Center for Affiliated Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Conservation (MMSU-CARE). The partnership establishes a framework for collaboration in renewable energy research, workforce development, technical training, and knowledge sharing to help build a stronger innovation ecosystem for the Philippine solar and energy storage sector.

The Assembly also welcomed new PSSEA members through an oath-taking ceremony, reflecting the Alliance’s growing membership and expanding network of organizations committed to advancing clean energy in the country.

The gathering concluded with a networking session that provided members and partners with an opportunity to exchange insights, strengthen partnerships, and identify new areas for collaboration.

As the country’s leading industry association for solar and energy storage, PSSEA remains committed to working with government, industry, academia, and development partners to create an enabling policy environment and accelerate the deployment of renewable energy solutions that deliver lasting benefits for Filipino consumers, businesses, and communities.
