Financing Distributed Solar and Storage: Innovative Pathways to Achieve Scale in ASEAN

6 October 2026 | 1:00–4:00 PM
Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City, Metro Manila

As solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage continue to reshape the energy landscape across ASEAN, access to innovative and appropriate financing will be increasingly important to scaling deployment across residential, commercial, industrial, and community applications.

The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) will co-present “Financing Distributed Solar and Storage: Innovative Pathways to Achieve Scale in ASEAN,” a high-level session held as part of the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) and alongside the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting.

The session, under “The Next Generation of Solar Financing,” will bring together investors, financial institutions, industry leaders, government representatives, and other stakeholders to examine practical financing models, investment opportunities, and market solutions for distributed solar and storage.

Advancing Solar and Storage Investment

The discussion will focus on:

  • Proven and emerging financing models for rooftop solar and energy storage across ASEAN and other relevant markets;
  • Opportunities to unlock investment through stronger collaboration among government, industry, finance, and development institutions;
  • Practical pathways to accelerate solar-plus-storage deployment; and
  • Lessons and case studies that can inform future investment in distributed energy.

The event will also launch Solar Rooftop and Storage: Financing Success Stories, Volume 1, the first publication in APVIA’s planned Solar Investment in Asia Knowledge Series.

For PSSEA, the regional discussion provides an opportunity to contribute Philippine industry perspectives to conversations on how financing can help make distributed solar and storage more accessible and scalable.

What’s next: PSSEA will continue engaging industry, financial institutions, government, and regional partners to explore financing pathways that can support wider adoption of distributed solar and storage while advancing energy security, affordability, and sustainability.
