The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) will bring together government representatives, ASEAN delegates, investors, project developers, and industry partners for the Philippine Floating Solar Photovoltaic Innovation Series & Commitment Ceremony on 6 October 2026 at Conrad Manila.
Held alongside the ASEAN Energy Ministers Summit hosted by the Philippine government and the ASEAN Energy Business Forum 2026, the evening will celebrate partnerships and investments supporting the development of floating solar in the Philippines.
A key milestone of the event will be the recognition of Macquarie Capital’s early-stage funding support for the Lake Caliraya Floating Solar Project, which helped lay the foundation for the project.
The event will also mark Solarion’s commitment of an additional US$277 million investment to develop a 170MWac floating solar project and establish a floating solar floaters manufacturing facility in Laguna.
Together, these developments represent important steps toward positioning the Philippines as a regional hub for floating solar innovation and manufacturing. The Lake Caliraya Floating Solar Project is expected to become the country’s first utility-scale floating solar project to commence construction, setting a new benchmark for renewable energy development.
Guests will also have the opportunity to experience a floating solar system exhibit at the hotel pool, offering a closer look at the technology and its potential applications.
What’s next
The ceremony will provide a platform for stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, explore new investment opportunities, and advance the development of floating solar projects and supporting manufacturing capabilities in the Philippines and the wider ASEAN region.
