The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Finance (DOF) on 9 July 2026, marking the beginning of a constructive dialogue on the role of solar energy and battery energy storage in supporting the country’s economic and energy priorities.

The meeting was attended by DOF Undersecretary Ma. Angela Ignacio, and Assistant Secretary Ferdinand Pallera and Dale Santiago of OES – Economic Affairs. Representing PSSEA were Board Members Engr. Aibar Rabi Rashad F. Bibi of Go Solar and Jeff Calderon of Huawei Digital Power together with President Ping Mendoza, General Manager Mayet Pantastico, and the Secretariat Team.

The meeting served as an exploratory discussion between PSSEA and the DOF, providing an opportunity to introduce the Alliance, exchange perspectives on the country’s evolving energy landscape, and identify potential areas for future collaboration.

During the dialogue, PSSEA highlighted the growing contribution of solar and energy storage to strengthening the Philippines’ energy security, improving electricity affordability, attracting investments, and supporting long-term economic growth. The Alliance also reaffirmed its commitment to serving as a constructive partner to the government by providing industry expertise and evidence-based policy recommendations in support of the country’s clean energy transition.

The courtesy visit reflects PSSEA’s continuing engagement with key government institutions to promote an enabling policy environment for renewable energy development. As the country’s leading industry alliance for solar and energy storage, PSSEA remains committed to working collaboratively with policymakers and stakeholders to advance practical solutions that deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for all Filipinos.
