Island and off-grid communities across the Philippines and the wider region continue to face high electricity costs and unreliable power supply. Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage, and hybrid solutions offer opportunities to reduce dependence on diesel generation, improve energy reliability, and strengthen community resilience.
The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) invites stakeholders to join “Powering the Islands and Remote Communities through Solar and Battery Storage,” a side event at the Philippine Hub during the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31).
The forum will bring together stakeholders to discuss how distributed solar and battery storage can address the energy challenges of island and remote communities. It will also explore the policy, financing, and institutional frameworks needed to support the deployment and long-term sustainability of these solutions.
The discussion aims to highlight practical pathways for expanding access to reliable and affordable electricity while advancing energy security and sustainability in underserved communities.
Join the discussion and be part of advancing solar and storage solutions for a more resilient energy future.
